Scenario 2 : Fruitilicious Juices
Fruitilicious Juices is a startup juice wholesaler. It's 10 employees are split among home offices, labs, manufacturing, and traveling sales.
The challenge
For Fruitilicious the problem came from sharing (or lack of). Since no two people are geographically close, the only method of sharing presentations and other documents was via e-mail. There was rampant version-itis: getting everyone on the same page was a problem. Also some people had Macs and others had Windows.
Virtual Office. Rethinkit provides remote-desktop-based Virtual Office services for all employees. This allows them to click an icon on their Mac or Windows PC and their entire desktop is temporarily replaced by an "office desktop" loaded with standard applications like Word / Excel / Outlook. On the office desktop are departmental and company-wide folders that are true shared folders. Also they now have multi-user Quickbooks and their own inventory system running inside the virtual office.
Email Services (M1 Exchange). M1 further extends their virtual office by allowing the local / home computers to have a synchronized copy of their mailbox. That means, even when the laptop is disconnected from the internet, mail can be read and responded to and will re-sync when a connection comes back. Blackberries and iPhones are also a part of their solution.
