How to Change Your Windows and Email Passwords
There are two passwords you should be aware of
1. Your Windows password controls your logon to your computer. This is the password you use to logon each morning. This is also the Remote Desktop password (if you are using this service).
2. Your Email password controls access to your mail from Outlook as well as web-based mailbox access. It is also used for mobile-based mail retrieval.
To change your Windows logon password
- From your desktop, press Ctrl-Alt-Del then click 'change password'.
(To do this in a Remote Desktop session, press Start... "Windows Security" )
To change your Email password
- Start a web-based Email session.
- Click 'Options' on the bottom left. Then click the 'Change Password' button on the right panel.
Note: Once you change this password, Outlook and other methods that access email will stop and ask for the new password.
